Our Wine Stoppers are made of 100% Stainless Steel and topped with a Polished Stone found on the beaches of the Central Oregon Coast. Most of the stones are a combination of agate and jasper though some are pure agate, jasper or petrified wood. We have spent countless hours over the years hunting for these rocks and over a month running them through our polishers with graduated levels of grit. The finishing touch was sorting out the very best stones to grace our wine stoppers. There are always small flaws in the stones. We see these as a natural part of the stone although the appearance can be enhanced with a drop of vegetable oil. The photos were taken on the macro setting of our camera so the flaws appear much greater than they are when you see the stones in person.
